MAC OSX Mavericks Finder

Sometimes you would like to see the hidden files on your MAC OSX.
By default the hidden files are not shown in Finder.

With a simple command in the Terminal, you can show the hidden files in Finder.

Open "Terminal" from the Utilities folder inside Applications, or by searching for "Terminal" using Spotlight in your menu bar.

Once Terminal is open, enter the following two commands:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -boolean true
killall Finder

This command will restart Finder with hidden files visible. If you want to hide them all again, you can use the following commands:

defaults delete com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles
killall Finder
